Tracy is a popular meditation teacher with students all across Toronto and the GTA. Classes are in a very safe and supportive environment, inviting the heart space to soften and expand, creating a space of compassion & self love. Weekly classes are oriented towards the needs and interests of the participants. She will also work individually with each participant’s practice to develop their understanding of their own personal experience.
Tracy has taken numerous eastern and meditative trainings from many advanced teachers such as Ken Wilber, Diane Hamilton, Thomas Huebl, Eckhart Tolle, Adyashanti, Gangaji, Yogi Amrit Desai, Frank Berliner – too name a few. She also lived for two years as a resident at Kripalu Yoga Ashram in Massachusetts and was on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Kripalu Yoga Center. Her mindfulness-based programs are based on the renowned program developed by Jon Kabbat-Zin, founder of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts. She has also taken the MBSR course with Saki Santorelli.
Additionally, with her BA from the University of Calgary, she majored in East/West Religions as well as psychology. Her Masters degree also focused on East/West psychology and Buddhist history, theory & practices. She is highly qualified to be teaching meditation. At one point, she meditated in the Rocky Mountains for nearly three months sitting up to 6 hours per day.
Tracy teaches a variety of different meditation techniques so that the practitioner can become familiar with the various meditative modalities available to them. For example, we will be using Vipassana (Insight meditation from The Theravada tradition) which uses mindfulness and breathing techniques to develop serenity and wisdom to create a clear, calm, & concentrated mind. This is an opportunity to practice this ancient and life transforming technique while learning to trust the body-mind relationship.
Tracy shares: “Every person has the capacity to mobilize deep, innate resources for continual learning & transformation. The varying techniques we will learn will each produce their own unique experiences & benefits. The practitioner, thru meditation, in a very short period of time, will begin to see and experience the value of their impact.”
